The tunics when wet were like a bag of cement.The leggings as you can see were made of plastic {yelllow] and we used to clean them with Brasso[Very inflamable].Health and safety was unknown in those days.The photos are around about 1982.My helmet was made of leather and was what we used to call a dead mans helmet as it was reissued to you as you joined. It was still the best days of my life and i would not change a thing.
