Here are some pics I took on what was the last passenger train to forfar before the line was completely closed in 1982.

Nice pics.... anything left of the station or sheds? _________________ Now coming at you with 95% more significance, 1% less salt and virtually fat free!

The track bed is easily followed for miles and miles to the east... I did'nt try westward _________________ Now coming at you with 95% more significance, 1% less salt and virtually fat free!

It might be possible to go from there up to Bridge of Dun on the Brechin Railway.Don't know about the way back to Stanley Jcn. _________________ See me? I'm daft, but it not ma fault! |

I remember visiting Station Park in the late '80s (possibly very early '90s) for a Forfar v Thistle match - the station building and platforms were still there. I seem to recall that scheduled passenger services were withdrawn in 1967 - didn't know that the line wasn't lifted until the early '80s though. |
