The track bed is easily followed for miles and miles to the east... I did'nt try westward

It might be possible to go from there up to Bridge of Dun on the Brechin Railway.Don't know about the way back to Stanley Jcn.

I remember visiting Station Park in the late '80s (possibly very early '90s) for a Forfar v Thistle match - the station building and platforms were still there. I seem to recall that scheduled passenger services were withdrawn in 1967 - didn't know that the line wasn't lifted until the early '80s though.
