It is the entrance to the Burgh Court in John Street and although it is technically part of the City Chambers it is in the newer East Building. As you wall down John Street from George Street it is on the left hand side.

I think the doors on the West Block John Street side of the City Chambers are solid doors

and are not used as entrances where as the Burgh Court can be entered from three entrances from John Street.
