Jock here are a selection of photos of the bridges from 2007 and 2009.

Hope these help your memory

View from Priesthill and Darnley Station of the footbridge near Kennishead Road which links one side of the station with the other. The second bridge can be seen in the distance.

Thanks for taking the time to put those photos up
I remember the station bridge now, but I can't ever remember using the other one.
Strange, as I think I covered every inch of the local area as a lad.
I have friends that live in the new bungalows in Neilston Ave so next time I'm up I will visit & have a looksee for myself.
These look substantial bridges, certainly equal to the bridge at Hopeman.
I remember the bridge at Salterland rd for some reason i used to hate going under that bridge (gave me the wullies) it was not a dark or low bridge but I never liked it.
Maybe another place to visit to see if it still has the same effect on me.

Hi All
Does anyone know of a ruin, possibly a mill in one of the areas I have marked.
I'm not too sure exactly where it was but I remember you could cross the burn by bridge and come out of the woods at that point.
Any photos from this far off the beaten track?

Don't have any photos of it at the moment Jock but there is an old demolished building at about the point of the circle nearest the dams. There is a path which leads through the woods which I usually follow on my way to the dams. Unfortunately the last time I was up there with my camera I couldn't find it. I know that the consultants who carried out the heritage study couldn't find any information about this building or what it was used for. If you have any information I am sure they would be very interested to hear about this old building.

This is the only photo of some kind of building which would be close to where the other circle is.

I drew 2 because i was not sure exactly where it was, but if you cross the burn on a wee bridge that would be the one i mean.
I'm gonna get up there and have a wander for sure

Hi all
Its true that my knowledge of the history of the area is that of a wandering kid & therefore not infallible

Lord Darnley's house turns out to be a building from the water works.
The tank trap is an old rifle range.
Many building I have memories of are gone, but I'm glad I at least have those memories.
Is it my failing memory or was there a castle (kids name) on the back path from Salterland rd to Barrhead ?.
I reckon it would have been about 3/4 the way along the path to Bower walls high on the hill.
I also seem to remember below Salterland farm (upstream a little) there was a weir & some ruins there, another mill?.

There was an old Tower that sat behind Montford house on the Darnley/Parkhouse rd,maybe thats what you remember.It was knocked down in the 70's i think
