Nice pics!
We went on the sunday so we could see Dougie Maclean.
Red Hot Chili Pipers were fab, Dougie was good as well.
Highland Games was fun.
Entertainment wise, well it seemed alright for the price of it, but overall I was pretty disappointed. Seeing as it had been getting advertised everywhere for ages I had been expecting something pretty special. And it just wasn't.
The last act on the friday was 'TBC'.
Hung around all afternoon waiting to see it, went to the stage 10mins before it was due to start, thinking -last act on the last day! Bound to be great! To find the stage being dismantled.
The food was just gross. had been expecting there to be something similair to the Farmers Markets. Yeah, there was a few local produce stands but not many and none were doing anything you could have for lumch. They had only ONE caterer for the whole event and you'd expect better food from a crap fish and chip shop. Manky burgers etc, my so called steak sandwich (£5!!) was more like seriously overcooked thin sliced beef that had been lying soaking in rank greasy gravy.

| Thats a pity iii and I don't think you are the kind of person who would moan about it if it wasn't bad. When I was a Machrananish recently I visited a stately home and the owner was going to a gathering of the clans, might have been the same one. Maybe all the gentry got the good stuff and the ordinary folks got the raw deal. |

I have to agree with iii. At times it looked a very amateur set up at times. 40 minutes wait for a fsh supper which you could sue under the trades description act.
Also in the programme it stated that the walk up the royal mile would start at 10pm which was too late for us to get home so we left a little after 5 only to find out they walked up the mile a little after that.
Other than that we really enjoyed it and hope they learn some lessons if they put it back on again. |
