Kennishead Road went from Barrhead Road at Pollokshaws West to Nitshill Rd near where The Ashoka is now. There used to be farmhouse buildings near Nitshill Rd.It was Loganswell farm. The buildings were where Darnley scheme is now. |

Hi Austin
We had a long discussion about the original route of Kennishead road, I think it was sorted as going from Nitshill road east of the tram bridge in more or less a straight line across Darnley to around the area of the fly over. Then over the old bridge thats still there and used as a foot path.
I can't remember a Loganswell farm in the Darnley area, but was there not one up around Patterton area ?

Hi Austin and welcome to Urban Glasgow
I don't know which of you are correct but there is a Loganswell Road up in Deaconsbank which is more in the director of where Jock is referring to. _________________ I had a dream today

| I made a mistake. The farm I was talking about was actually called Leggatston Farm. The old memory sometimes lets me down. |

| You are right about the route of Kennishead Rd ,it ran down the hill from the old bridge over the railway and passed the bridge at 'the kingy' on the Arden side of the bridge. We moved to Arden in1958 and often played down at the 'Shady'. |

Thanks Alex ,I did see the photos.I recently read a couple of great books about Glasgow Districts. You may have already come across them. They are 'Villages of Glasgow South of the Clyde ' and 'Villages of Glasgow North of the Clyde' by Aileen Smart.I think that they may be available in the Library. There is avery interesting section on Hurlet @ Nitshill in the 'South' one.
