Hi All & welcome back Alex
They have removed the photo of my daughter, though not a word about it.
Seems complaining can work.

Here is a photo taken a few years ago.
The horse and carriage was used as part of the Gala Parade taking the Gala Queen around the streets of South Nitshill.
Another interesting feature of this photo for those who know it is the old wooden church hall which was part of St Bernard's.

Great pic Alex. The old church hall was actually used as the chapel before the new one was built round about 1963. Thereafter it was extended and became the Willowford Social Club. Im not sure but is the person in the carriage Rose McCloy ? She was a local councillor or something along those lines. _________________ Illegetimus nil carborundum Habetus bona deum. |

Hi Gerry
Spot on it is Rose in the carriage.
I have been promised access to lots more photos ranging from 1988 till about 1999. So look out for some familiar faces. The main focus of the photos will be the people. _________________ I had a dream today

Great threads. I originally discovered the Part 1 thread through Google images whilst looking for a pic of St Bernards Chapel, and was sad to see it was locked...Good to see a part 2 on the go
I have some pics of the view from Woodfoot Quad looking out over Pollok / Nitshill, plus some pics of the houses that we used to stay in (that where still standing at the time). I'll have to dig them out and get them posted.
A big thank you to the people who have posted pics of Southie / Nitshill as it used to be, Its brought back a lot of happy memories |

Which my father helped keep in decent nick...as well as the grounds of the chapel, he was always out in the summer cutting the grass
