Hi Neilmc
I have to agree with mr U
Is it possible that is the tram bridge with Darnley hospital in the back ground. There looks to be a wall which parkhouse farm did not have but the hospital did.

Nitshill Road from Parkhouse Road.
The first photo is an eBay purchase, and the date stamped on the back is 7 Aug 1953:-

Jock58,the houses look as though they could be on Corkerhill Rd.Can just make out that road running down the hill, but I can only recall a big farm
about that point. _________________ hairyfeet |

HI ALL
Leggie farm ?? I think the correct name was Leggitt's
I just can't get that angle in my head i know the road was moved & widened but i would have thought from that view you would be looking over to-wards the hopeman area not looking straight on to Priesthill.
I'll have to have a look at that next time i get up the road.

Jock58,just behind the people boarding the tram there was a path which went up to Priesthill,I used to walk my then girlfriend up to her house by it.
It was a good shortcut when coming back from the dams. _________________ hairyfeet |

Some recent photos taken looking North from South Nitshill toward the junction of Parkhouse Road/Nitshill Road/Kenniishead Road and Darnley Hospital and the area where the Darnley Fire Station was located.
Hope these help you Jock and Mr U.

Hi Alex & all
Ok i think this thicko has got it now
The road or at least the tram tracks were much further east than they are now and that must be the end of Glenmuir we can see.
I think the depth of this photo was throwing me too, The old Kennishead road ran nowhere near Priesthill but in this photo it looks like it does.
Thanks Alex for setting me straight on this.
Jock
