Like many others Pete I am fascinated by this unique batch of photos.
The very fact that you have kept them and publish them indicates to me that you really ought to get back in touch with Bad Bob and put the demons down.

Not unusual but have seen it too often with some of the old guys I climbed with. Wee Jimmy and Stukky were good examples. As I get on myself I can now begin to understand the feeling that one has to give up things they are no longer abe to do. Many of the guys were a good 20 yrs older than me. However I was lucky in the fact that I started my hillwalking at an early age and never stopped. Whereas they might have started early but others things got in the way and they came back late in life. Thats why I am quite at ease in my mind and do other activities. Its all been done .Ate the book and read the pie and all that.

I think now is as good a time to call a halt to the leg end of Bad Bob. It has stirred up memories some good and some not so good.

Many years ago there was a report of a body found if I am correct, on the summit of Ben Alder. It was a male , dressed in cowboy attire, poncho, hat, gunbelt , spurs etc.
Seems he committed suicide by gunshot wound to the head, with an empty bottle of spirits beside him.
This made a great impression on BB. He thought it would be a great way to go. On the hill, sipping a good malt and watching the sunset.. then bang...
I'll leave you with this.
