I know most people will have looked through the photos that are included in the Urban Glasgow Collection. It maybe that some people just want to look at them and see how Glasgow looked at the time these photos were taken.
I think that some of the images could provide us with good subjects for associated threads/projects.
The thing that strikes me about this section - People and Place - is the way in which things have changed over the years from cloths to facilities as featured here.
This photo shows some fashions
from an earlier period and there are lots of examples of other fashions both here in the Urban Glasgow Collection and in some of the photos posted by members on the wider forum.
Would anyone be interested in a project to look at fashions?
The next photo is of the public toilet in St Vincent Place
There are many examples again of facilities such as these which have either been removed or replaced throughout the years.
Would any one be interested in a project that shows how these facilities have changed?
Not as a past/present but trying to see what has changed over the years and maybe even answering the question "Why?". _________________ I had a dream today

Sounds like a good idea for a project Alex.
St Vincent Pl was that not removed so they could widen the road. Though i do admit I like the semi circular design of the original steps... I almost worded it bent steps _________________ MY FLICKR

Thanks Jock
I was just thinking that a project on fashion my help people who are tracing their family history in about 30 - 40 years time to date pictures from the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's.
There were some classic clothes during this period.
The other project is a sort of past/present but without the need to take make an exact location being required.
I was passing the building of the former Allan Glen's School and got to thinking that the building has changed but so has the surrounding area and it would be difficult to take a past present but there are other shots that would show how the building has changed.
Hopefully others will join in and make use of the Urban Glasgow Collection. _________________ I had a dream today

I think it was called the Red Parrot and had some mad parrot shaped neon sign outside.
