I've up-sized it but can't make out what it is

You're not going to believe this.

I went to the Mitchell today and had a look at the yellow pages for both North and South of the city and came up with 2 possible locations.

Maryhill Rd at Eastpark

and

Cathcart Rd.

It cannae be.... surely?

Good work Alan that certainly narrows it down a bit so which road is it? a visit to both locations required I think

There's a driving school at 991 Cathcart Road http://www.thomsonlocal.com/DRM-D...1091030000068014/companyinfo.html

No idea how long it's been there.

There was a Mount Florida branch of RBS and a driving school within a few numbers of each other in Cathcart Rd in 1970.

Couldn't find a driving school close to the Eastpark branch in Maryhill Rd. The block in Maryhill Rd has also been demolished and replaced with modern flats.

DRM have only been there since around 2000 or 2001.  They relocated from Clarkston Road across from the Ashoka South Side.

Hi All  Here is my tuppence worth looking at the photo, i believe it must be summer month as the fruit and vegetable shop has his sun blinds pulled out,the RBS seems to me to be in a small recess and either been put in between buildings as it is completely different in colour, and the tenements way down West seem to be the back-courts rather than the front, with a Land Rover and other vehicles parked on spare ground where houses have been demolished Probably I have got everything wrong just my opinion  Cheers Flim

The building at the top of Buchanan St. was the N.A.A.F.I. building, photographed in 1953. It was converted into the Chevalier Casino in 1964.

Looking down on Buchanan Street from the roof of the NAAFI building, 1953.
