Due to various things I won't go into  , i'm living at my brother's hoose.

I know GHA have changed the system and they advertise vacant properties, they give priority to various criteria but if no-one from the priority groups applies your chances are pretty good.

Alan is nearly right.
the gha have piloted what is called choice based letting which is up and running in certain areas.
this lets the gha advertise their properties for rent and asks for people to show an interest in them.
the rest of the gha it is business as usual.......you go on a waiting list and get the 1st offer of the least desirable property they have.
