I almost stayed at The Corbigoe hotel a few years back. After being told there was no room at the original hotel we were booked into we got marched about 300 yards up the road (Angela was 7 months pregant) to the wonderful Corbigoe.
The room they showed us was mingin'. Bare wires hanging out the wall, smashed tiles, tea (and other) stains everywhere. I sat on the bed and the sheets stuck to me when I tried to get up.
But best of all was the kettle they left us. It had a 3 inch cable but all the sockets were about 10 inches off the ground meaning we would've had to levitate the bastard thing off the ground to boil.
After complaining we got sent back up the original hotel, where a man walked past with a really really rough hooker, to see if we'd like to look at another room. Just as bad but with the added bonus of an unlocked door that led straight onto the main road.
After a complaint Expedia refunded the money and we found a wee place called The Victoria hotel on the same road. It was clean, that's all I ask for.
