The last remnant of the old co-op in SpringburnFound this old building whilst out and about last weekend..turns out its all that remains of the co-operative in Springburn.The guy who owns it now told me that it was where the carts used to deliver milk were stored and that the metal rims on the pavement were to stop the carts mounting the pavement as they were being reversed in by the horses..not sure if he was at the madam with the last bit..it later housed the motorised milk floats. The other part of the building now abandoned was the original co-op funeral parlour for the area

My mother lived at 105 Morrin Street from late 1930's to early 1950's. My gran had a part time job in the Undertakers, next door to the Dairy, dusting down the coffins! Apparently there was a big bell that hung outside the Dairy that all the kids used to ring and then run away!

Spot on Higgy Morrin st it is.. only found it cause I parked next to it to go into the graveyard .. James... just off Keppochill road just after the old pics I posted last week

Naw.. the garage...might be some goodies on the wall or the like that the guys in there dont bother with...was only a thought

Brilliant pics; Brought back a fair few memories. We used to play fitty and the goals were painted on the walls of the building where the funeral cars used to be garaged which is the site of Morrin motor engineers now. The middle part was used to park coop vans and milk floats. I remember in the late 60s my mither hired a big funeral caur to take our family to the Central station to catch the train to the coast. We stayed in the street next to the building in the pic (Crichton Street) and we were probably the weans that rang the bell and made the workers life hell.
