First one is easy... Hope st with central hotel on the left, waterloo st on the right. I've never seen that Royal Bank building before... amazing to think that was demolished and the replacement recently demolished
Chief Inspector

Second one has Watt Brothers Department store to the right hand side

The Royal Bank building was the Corn Exchange, I read a bit about it, but can`t find it right now. It was white marble or gratine built in circle upon block upon circle, it would have been an outstanding building in its day, but in the pic I saw it had been blackened by the smoke from the Central Station.

The last two are also Springburn Road - I think Smith's became the Kerry Inn?
Love the Austin A40 pick-up, and look at the size of the gent escorting the wee boy across the road.

Think the Lewis,s x-ray advert is about the 1950s TB scare.
tombro

Trolleybus could be quite right altthough, since I was only a bairn at the time, I don't remember that 'X-Ray' sign.

The trams indicate the picture to be late 1950's, but I'm sure there must be some enthusiasts who can narrow it down even more by identifying the cars.

The ERF truck on the right would suggest to me that it is definitely the late 1950's.

Well spotted Tombro: That particular ERF has the original version of the distinctive 'KV' cab, which was actually unveiled at the Scottish Motor Show, Kelvin Hall in November 1953.

Since the ERF seems to be the most modern vehicle in that photo, I reckon it could have been taken any time from around 1954 on......
glasgowken

Yep, can't see anything that would change that.

Behind that wall on the right of Springburn Rd was the area of Sighthill cemetery that i,ve heard say many moons ago was the paupers grave section.

Last i looked there did,nt seem to many headstones around that section.

Could be that the headstones had fallen down through time and the area had been kept tidy by the council.

If it was paupers graves then there may have been no headstones to begin with
