Secret ScotlandAnyone any idea what this is
It is located about a mile and a half to the north east of Callander along the Bracklinn Road.

Is that not one of those underground listening posts like the one opposite the Luma building?

Yeah, it's an ROC post... Royal Observatory Corps. A relic from the cold war era. The browning paneled shack at the side is an 'orlit A'. The post itself is flooded to about 2' of water

Thanks guys this is fantastic
It did look unusual stuck out in the wilderness.
I notice that there was one in Barrhead - wonder if any of that one survives. Need to have a look to see if I can locate it.

visit was 2002, shows up on live! maps (don't know how recent the bird's-eye view is tho)

incidentally, at the ROC homepage http://www.subbrit.org.uk/rsg/roc/index2.shtml
click on the 'posts + pictures' link, when the list comes up, click on the 'post name' column header and the list becomes alphabetically ordered - easier to look for a specific station (i couldn't get the 'search' to work)
