Ruchill Hospital

I was wondering if anyone has been successful in visiting this place? I've been there a week ago to scoop it out. It seems to be reasonably fenced off and the main walls are quite high but that shouldn't be a problem. I've watched the edit on Youtube which was filmed about a year ago. Is it worth going?
james73

Never been to it, but someone on here probably has.

It has security...

and of course, as a public viewable forum, we wouldnt be able to advise you on such matters
brklss

Apparently, there is a "security" guy but I don't think he will be much of a problem. Of course I wouldn't ^really^ go there :-)

Even if you DOn't go.... stick some pictures up here when you dont :)

The building you refer to in Queen Margeret Drive is still in use.
Outside broadcast storage or some such nonsense all covered by lovely security cameras.

Rumoured to be a new Whistle Test venue in the offing .... But that has still to be confirmed.
UE_Mike

Aww.......thats a shame!

Whats a whistle test??

Was up at the park today next to the hospital. That water tower is bloody amazing (well I think its a water tower). When I look at stuff like that I just think that nowadays we have went backwards. Need to find out some more. I first seen the tower from just off Clevden Road it must be able to be seen for miles in all directions

Only hope, with the development falling through, that the whole place doesn't fall down in the meantime due to neglect. IMHO the city needs to keep that sort of architecture at all costs................Sorry for the rant
Stuball

I believe this was the nurses accomodation block or admin block. For anyone thinking of going, I'd advise against it as the building is in a very poor condition internally with ceiling and floors collapsed. A few times I nearly ended up in the basement.

Hi I'm new here and this is my first post.  I found the forum yesterday when searching for information about Ruchill Hospital and there are so many interesting threads!  I see somebody has already posted some really great pictures of the inside of the hospital
I took a trip out there at the weekend in the off-chance I would be able to get in, and I did.  The inside is very creepy and also extremely dangerous.  It would have been good to get into the old morgue for a few pictures but security were floating about.    Anyway, I hope you don't mind me sharing a few more photographs and if anyone's interested I took a video 'walkthrough' of the building which I'm going to upload to YouTube at the weekend so I could post the link here.  I'll stop talking now - here are a few pictures.
