Planning and Design ModelsPlanning and Design Models
In this new age of modern technology computer generated models aid Developers and Planners to display and assess proposed projects. The photos in this section of the Urban Glasgow Collection features some of the models and displays previously used to explain regeneration areas or simple changes within a smaller area. As we enter a new era of major regeneration it is good to reflect on some of the projects that took place many years ago. It may still be possible to take photos of these areas today to see what changed have taken place since time of the model.
We all now know of the Glasgow City Centre Scale Model. Although this is now in storage it may be possible to access the model or images of it so that a comparison can be made of areas within the City Centre. For other areas may be a bit of urban exploration will uncover how areas outside the City Centre have changed.

They've only included the Viewpoint Flats, though. I wonder if the Balgrayhill ones (on Springburn Park side of the road) were an afterthought.
Cracking photos James. I love those models. Weird to see places you take for granted actually modelled as a future build.
