Northern IrelandGoing over to N.I. in March next year and was hoping to take my Da to a sporting event, preferably something a bit different so I'm looking for suggestions please.
Any general info/places to go/things to do would also be great.
Staying on the east coast but we'll have the motor so travelling isn't a problem.
Thanks guys.

There's GAA in Northern Ireland isn't there? It's certainly a bit different...

Aye James quite fancy something like that thanks. A wee game of handball would be quite good. Hurling too.

We go to the Hurling when we are over .... usually good clean fun but theres that edge from the local derby's when 2 grown men are at each other with big sticks.... Magic... Stamford Street Circa 1978

did you go over the rope bridge??

the bridge is surprisingly stable, wouldn't fancy it in high winds though.
I should have some pics somewhere from a trip we made there a few years ago, although they are pre digi so will have a lot of shoeboxes to go through.

I sure did to the calls of my wife saying stay off that bridge tubby...
I was actually more amused at those who took off like scalded cats across it trying to show bravery.
Kinda like this poor soul...
I was pissing myself untill i seen the poor guys tears and he was truly distressed as to how he was getting back across.
Never helped when some helpful wag said if it snaps then yi have feck all else to worry about.
From the outer bank looking back
It is more stable than you would at first think but you have to stop for a wee bounce in the middle

Never noticed these replies. Great shots.
I took 1000 photos when I was over. Really liked the place but don't think I'd bother my arse going back to Belfast.
Still going through them all so I'll post them as I process.
Giants Causeway Pano. Click for massive size.

Belfast is OK as long as you go on a sunday...
Not overly enamoured with it at the best of times myself if i am honest though.
I know you seen these.
We have to make the pilgramage there every time we are over...
Did you happen upon the Wizard of Zigton Stone in the churchyard Pete ?

What was the purpose of those wee steps?
I didn't see the Wizard Of Zigton stone. Another excuse to go back I suppose. What is it anyway
I did visit the chapel that my great-great granny/granda were married in. Fivemiletown.
Glenariff Forest Park
Giants Causeway
Carrick-a-Rede Bridge
Some of my images are looking really soft after resizing/sharpening. Those are OK but some are turning out really bad. Need to sort that.

Thanks Alex aye it was a great wee holiday. I'll be back over soon.
This is Glens Hedge School and a house belonging to an old woman called Nanny. Strange. There was 3 caves next to each other. I believe the third one that was flooded was used as the school so just imagine one of these caves only wider :)

A return visit to the city doesn't really interest me to be honest although I might have to try something out the excellently named:

As far as the wife's family know the original church was fully walled and the steps were how you got there as there was no gate.
Other than this explanation i have no clue but there is a bout 6 sets of them if you follow the old path.
I also visited the Strange Dwellings... not too long vacated either according to an old guy who was walking along the roadside.
Never seen that chippy when i was there . Wondering WTF a George Best Burger is...
Probably Dribblin in grease... Half Cooked Over a Bottle of "Whiskey" (Yes Irish Whiskey)

Loved the photos of Ireland,I noticed the sign at the rope bridge says no more than 8 people going across at any one time,it doesn't mention what weight they should be,7 fatty's and 1 skinny's could be a bit scarey (especially for the skinny) lol
