Must see day outHi All
I'm visiting back up to Glasgow in August
I'm looking for the best idea of a day out trip i can take my elderly aunt on.
Something along the lines of a must see if you visit the area.
Distance not a prob, within reason.
Car access a must, so the summit of Nevis is out

How about taking her to the Museums? Kelvingrove and the Transport museum are beside each other

Lone Groover

Tea and cakes at Duck bay, drive round and a boat trip on Loch Lomond.

How about Pollok Park, Pollok House and the Burrell Collection? That way you have a few things to see and a choice of indoors and outdoors.

I moved out of Glasgow just over three years ago. The afternoon before we moved I spent between St Mungo's museum of Religion, The Cathedral and the Provands Lordship. That was a smashing few hours for me.
Peace.

Great suggestion katimac.
But she lives in Thornliebank & has visited Pollok park many times.
Every year when i go up we take a wee walk along to Rouken Glen & throw a penny in the high dam. Sort of 3 coins in a fountain ritual. It has worked so far as i seem to return at least once a year.

There is alway the option of a visit to the City Chambers and if the date is right then a special treat could be arranged
