I have a computer problem which is making me hit my computerAll of a sudden, internet explorer is telling me that half the sites I access, including my work email, have a problem with their security certificate. It is also blocking loads of content on other websites (pictures etc.) and it is just about driving me crazy.I am sure one of you must know how to get rid of this curse. Please! |

Have you tried restarting the computer? Or downloading the latest version of IE?
It could be a bit of spyware/malware but I don't really use IE anymore - Firefox is free and will import all your bookmarks/favourites when you install it. James H |

Is your AV working and up-to-date?
Is your firewall turned on? Have you installed critical updates from Windows update? Is this a personal laptop or a work one? It looks like multiple issues. The certificate errors are worrying. |

Hmmm, I think I have fixed it. It seems that I had somehow changed the date so that my computer thought it was January 2008. Setting the correct date seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks for all your help. I am glad it wasn't anything too serious. For a while, I thought it was a nasty virus. | ||

That will explain why your computer thought the certificates were invalid.
