I fancy a trip to Arran, Maybe Brodick Castle and that?
james73

Aye, sounds good.

James H
Smartalex

I always wanted to go but never got round to it.

It's really not that hard to get to, Train to Ardrossan then a nice ferry trip across.

Should only cost about £15 there and back at worst.

Was thinking maybe one for during the Fair Fortnight.

What do you guys think, a possibility?

Alex.
falseface

aye
Fjord

Like the sound of that idea I've not been to Arran in years just did a day trip to climb Goat Fell and didn't even have time for a pint until we were on the ferry back.

Thankfully Cal Mac's got a bigger ship these days

All aboard

MV Isle of Arran at Brodick pier 1992

Hugo Drax

Arran is a brilliant place for a vist. An overnight would be good.
cybers

Sounds good to me though someone will need to check with the locals to see if i am still banned....

Well thats Families for you cant take them anywhere bar thur causing murder
zolita1908

I'm jealous, i wanna go
Xeno

I might go depending on the date. Never been to Arran. Would allow me to tick the MV Caledonian Isles off my list.
Smartalex

The date is still open, I was thinking maybe a day during the Glasgow fair (because im off work) but could make it a weekend.
monument

I would go.
Scary

I would go too if it`s at a weekend.
wee minx

Yip ..great day out that would be.
Smartalex

Well if we all post up our free weekend dates and we'll pick the most popular......

18th 19th would do me also!
Xeno

19th is good for me as am working on the 18th
Smartalex

I just realised the balls up on the dates I made.......

The 18th of July is a Friday which i'm working on too and the 19th of July is the first day of the River Festival.

How about the weekend after that for this instead maybe the 26th or 27th of July.

Sorry I arsed up the dates.

falseface

are we going for the weekend?
wee minx

Just the day is fine for me, some can stay some can go..keeps every one happy
Smartalex

I was just going for the day too.

The Sat 26th is probably the best, coz the trains will be worse on the Sunday.

Still got plenty of time to organise it anyways but I now vouch for the 26th of July.

Yes?
falseface

ok 26th is fine with me
james73

Hugo Drax

Seconded. I love Rothesay - I had my stag do there.
james73

I've never been, but the day out to Arran was great so we thought of arranging
another. I think the following weekend is the September weekend so I thought
it better to go before then to avoid the crowds...

What you got in mind? Somewhere heated I hope
james73

The little I have in my mind should remain therein...

Open to suggestions.

James H
poodiecat

The Christmas Market in Edinburgh will be on through to the New Year.
Stuball

As I suggested to James earlier - A trip to to the Campsie Falls and area including a fleeting visit to Lennox Castle (remains)

We would need volunteer drivers but we can chip in for fuel if need be
zolita1908

I don't mind driving, can fit in another 3, due to the baby seat.  but I don't mind
poodiecat

Anyone up for a visit to Melrose & Abbey in January?
Seen it on BBC's History of Scotland last night, magnificent place!

Checked out the traveline website, train to Waverley and then a direct bus to Melrose, 2 1/2 hours in total.
The Borders have always interested me and I have never been there

Why not get a few drivers together and do the 4 abbey tour... seems an awfy waste of time to just do the one.
Some cracking wee tea rooms in Melrose, Jedburgh, Kelso and Dryburgh.

Wrestling with my own personal demons just now so cannot commit to this until i see the doc but could possibly be 3 spare seats.
