Coinkidink.

How's this for a strange do?

Last night, around one in the morning, I got a text from a number I didn't recognise stating simply "Who's this?"

I sent one back asking "No, who's this?"

"I asked first." the sender replied, with a wee smilie atatched.

So, adding some hunour to the situation, I replied "Oh .. so that's how it is, is it?  Well .. my Dad's bigger than your Dad. (",)"

I thought that would be it but a couple of minutes later the 'budaleep - budaleep' of a text message came resounding from th handset. The message read "Ok then .. it's Sandra. I found ur nmbr on my phne but I dn't know who u r?"

Now as it happens I used to know a Sandra so I asked, by text, "Sandra from Drumchapel?".

"Yes.." she replied "Now who r u?".

"Ross." I texted back.

"ROSS!!! .. " she says, "How are you Big Man? Long time no hear .. how hav u bn?"

What followed was an exchange of what I had been up to for the past couple of years interspersed, text for text, by what she had been up to.

As the conversation ensued my conviction dwindled that we were actually both talking to the people we thought we were talking to, and after a short textual discourse I phoned the number to speak to my old pal Sandra in person to clear things up.

Turns out it wasn't Sandra after all .. well it was a Sandra, just not the Sandra .. the one I knew. Not only that, I obviously wasn't the Ross she used to know either but what are the chances of me getting a wrong number from someone who I thought I knew, who lived in a place where the person I knew used to live and her knowing someone who had the same name as me, living in the same place as I'm living in just now?

It's right spooky is that.  ???

But how did she have your number in the first place ?....

Oh, I forgot to mention that .. she had bought the phone second hand from a mate (her mate, not mine)

It was my phone three phones ago.
