Its name is came from the French town of Châtellerault, the title Duc de Châtellerault being held by the Duke of Hamilton.
To get to it the nearest station is Chatelherault on the Motherwell line,

I wanted to go exploring but the kids wanted to go to the playground. Guess who won.
It was a really nice place and I'll be back many times in the future.

A few more images of Chatelherault and of the Cadzow Woods beyond. Chatelherault was the hunting lodge of the Dukes of Hamilton and had a fantastic view across to the Hamilton Palace, demolished in the 1920s.
