Nothing too exciting, just a slightly modified pic from St Peters.
Bit of curves action and desaturation.

Minx it is really quite easy.I used elements 6 to do it.

Get a pic, but you need to make it square..image ,resize, image size.
make the width and height the same size.I.E. 4000.then unclick restrain proportions.

then you need to flip the image...image, rotate,180.

then go to filter, distort. polar coordinates and make sure rectangular to polar is clicked.

Hey presto a little planet looking pic.

then just mess about with the clone tool to tidy it up.
wee minx

wooohooo....yes...I like that...I even saved it as an action (proud smilie)

Excellent fastnet...ta

cybers

Would prefer a giraffe
Cloth in its moof to git the upstairs windows.

I WANNA GIRAFFE
Doorstop

That pic was sooooo clever.

I really need to get to grips with Photoshop, the fiddly bits I mean - I can get by with the basic manipulation tools but the clever stuff needs some tutorials.

That was a hint by the way.
wee minx

jeezo, I'm not bad a some stuff and pish at other bits.
These things probably work best if every one uses the same software, I use Photoshop..I can use Elements and and I've got CS3 now (thanks..you know who you are).

I think the most important thing is to get to understand are all the wee tools you can use, layers and layer masks. AND to think of the screen as your desk with all the bits on it you can use..like in school ..Ye know...pencil, pen, ruler, rubber, paint, shapes, a cut potato with a star shape to make some patterns   (thats the clone tool BTW), yer hand to point at stuff draw a wee perforated line around it(selection tool) a thing to move stuff about (move tool)...auch there are loads of fun things to play with ( Cybers...get that chewing gum under the desk where it should be!!) .  And also how to get those tools on your desk in a user friendly way..organised anat.

This all might seem very simple, but no point goin on with it half way through some peoples knowledge and way past others
We should all have a go at showing each other stuff  and saying "thats pish" btw

Also, its about technical things here, not 6 points for artistic merit and all that stuff...thats a very individual thing really. (...if its F*ckin brilliant though..jist say..ok )

Potatojunkie has done a few on HG, I was able to follow them and I did the split tone one cos I hadn't found a good tutorial that I felt did it well till then.

So lets just play it by ear and just post away, I'll not be feart to ask probably daft things I don't know..i hope you will join in

Thank you listening   ...now bugger off and look at photoshop
Lone Groover

How shall we bugger off oh Master ???
wee minx

aww jeez.  I'll go and do a learny thing then and post it in here

Excellent Fastnet...here are a few others..

http://www.good-tutorials.com/tutorials/photoshop/textures

http://www.pxleyes.com/

http://www.photoshopcafe.com/tutorials.htm

If its how to do more singular indivudual things...gimmie a clue what you might want to do   ..meanwhile I'll go make up something to get started.  Ps..this is not my thing here..I'm just a contributor
cybers

http://www.worth1000.com/

http://abduzeedo.com/tutorials

http://speckyboy.com/

http://www.tutorial9.net/

All of the above links minx uses all contain good tutorials some easier than others but will give you a firm first footing on how it all works.
The ones i have put up all contain the same though sites like worth1000 tutorials should be avoided till you know the basic stuff.

Patience is a virtue i dont have lol but i seem to manage quite well and end up relaxed using Photoshop to create some wierd stuff after i learned how to control the basics like exposure and colour balance.
wee minx

Don't ask me how I did it...god knows

..but here is the tutorial
