Skyride Glasgow - 23 August 2009
Click for full size map
The Skyride Glasgow route will be open and free of traffic from 10am until 2pm... but remember
it was the early bird, that caught the worm, so head down early!
Highlights of the route include:
* Riverside scenery, as you ride along the re-vamped River Clyde
* The amazing architecture of the iconic Armadillo
* Glasgow Green, the home of Skyride's Entertainment
* Family photo opportunities at Nelson's Monument
Skyride Entertainment will carry on until 4pm, so once you've cycled the route a few times, there's
plenty of time left to enjoy the fun and laughter at Glasgow Green

Golden boy Hoy leads city cycle (Evening Times)
SCOTTISH Olympian Sir Chris Hoy was among thousands of cyclists to take part
in a traffic-free city ride yesterday.
Roads in the centre of Glasgow were closed to vehicles for much of the day
for the Skyride event.
Four-times Olympic gold medallist Sir Chris said: "It was fantastic to see so
many people enjoying a day out cycling together, having the unique opportunity
to cycle through traffic-free streets.
"I hope today has reminded people how much fun can be had from cycling
and has encouraged people to get back on their bikes."
Despite some heavy showers of rain, fellow Olympian Ross Edgar and former
Blue Peter presenter turned celebrity dance star Gethin Jones joined Sir Chris
to ride the course, from Glasgow Green to the SECC and back again.
