I was looking at this photo & thinking how nice it would have been if the idea had ever got off the paper:
Then I stumbled across this on the 'Glasgow 1980' video: 
Shame the idea never caught on. There used to be a pub on the walkway too, I was in it a couple of times, anyone remember what it was called? Anyone have any pics of it?

Hollowhorn: The pub was called the Coconut Grove, at least for part of it's existence.
James: re. "Unknown - possibly Springburn Balgrayhill. Can someone confirm?" . This looks like the Bluevale & Whitevale tower blocks, between Duke Street & Gallowgate.
Edit: it would help if I put the relevant photos in:-

Here they are photographed by me from Duke Street in 1991 which is pretty much the same time as Andrew Charles Paul.

The first picture is definitely the Bluevale & Whitevale tower blocks, but the model
picture looks to me like the Balgrayhill scheme. The road at the bottom is Springburn
Road and the maisonettes are between the two towers and the main road. The
road at the far right is Hawthorn Street.

I can remember going to see some bands there in the 80's. I'm pretty sure H20 (remember them) played there in some sponsored gig to take our minds off being unemployed.
HH the place was Called Trading Post.

| You're right of course, James, although the tower blocks they built in Balgrayhill (four in total?) were a bit different in design from those shown on the model, which I'm sure represent the design used for the Bluevale/Whitevale blocks. |

My brother worked in the Trading Post or was it my sister?
Anyway they both worked in Panama Jacks, Trading Post and Pier 39 late 80's early 90's.
Having a good time looking through the collection. Hopefully I'll have a relevant comment next time I pop in.

Yes, there are four not two towers at Balgrayhill but no doubt the model was
a first draft plan for the area. Compare:

Ah, there's no doubt about it now James: the other two tower blocks are outwith the extent of the model
