Castle Campbell is an imposing 15th century Castle built in the picturesque Dollar Glen in the Ochil hills.
Originally Called Castle Gloom it was approved a name change to the present name by King James the IV. The Castle itself is built on a mound with three very steep ravines with a great view out over the town of Dollar. The castle was Sacked in 1654 by Scots in retaliation for Argyles support to Oliver Cromwell.
As I started to climb towards the castle and it came into view i was truly stunned at the location and the structure so much so i had to pause for moment.
Well worth the visit...
Will add to this as i get thru the photo's

Well if you do decide to go take a packed lunch for the trek from the bottom car park
If by some miracle you get to use the top car park 2 mutton pies a bag of crisps and 4 bottles of water should suffice
Oh and don't forget your Ray Mear's Survival Handbook _________________ MY FLICKR
